kulm (august 29-30, 1813)

INTRODUCTION
The French I Corps under Vandamme, is pursuing the retreating allied after the battle of Dresden. The Russian I (Guard) and III Corps stand at Kulm. Thinking that other French corps are also pursuing, Vandamme attacks the Russians, but other allied forces are rapidly converging towards him.

HOUSE RULES
The order of battle (OOB) is based on the book of George Nafziger 'NAPOLEON AT DRESDEN. THE BATTLES OF AUGUST' (Chicago, Emperor's Press 1997)
The second edition of Napoleon's Battles edited by Five Forks has been used with some modifications:
1) The cavalry scale is also 1/120
2) To display small cavalry groups (regiments), units of cavalry from 480 men upwards are allowed,
3) Units of infantry with less than four elements are allowed to display under-strenght French light infantry or Russian jager units.
4) Routed units can try to rally without an attached general with an additional '-3' modifier.
5) The attempts to avoid routs and/or dispersal (14.2.1) can be made without an attached general. The attempt to avoid the dispersal requires a previous rout movement.

SPECIFIC RULES OF THE SCENARIO
Fictional Scenario
Kulm is a one-side scenario heavily weighted against the French. In order to give Vandamme a chance, the participation of Prussian units during the second day can be hindered: After the arrival of each Prussian Brigade (see the Arrival table) its commanding general must to pass a Command Control test in order to deploy and moving from the arrival entry point. After a successful test, the next unit in the queue can start to test for arrival in the following Control Phase, i.e. during the following turn, that is taken as being two-turns before the scheduled turn to apply the OR13.8.2 rule.
